one day in the year of the fox

When the strong young man 
of the rising sun 
Won the tolling of the big black bell

It meant the time had come 
for one to go 
To the temple of the king

he stands

어느 여우의 해, 어느날 
크고 검은 벨이 울리자 
아침에 떠오르는 태양과 같이 
그 강하고 젊은 사나이는 
옛 기억이 생생하게 생각났어요 
어느 여우의 해, 어느날 
그 벨이 울리기 시작할 때면 
왕의 신전으로
누군가 가야 할 
시간이 왔다는 것을 의미했지요 
그는 사람들이 모여 있는 한가운데에서 
그의 떨리는 손의 
단 한번의 기회를 
주위를 살피며, 간절히 바라면서 
서 있어요 
대답이 나오길 기다리지요 
늙은이가 "하느님 도와주소서!" 
라고 노래하는 동안 
누워 기다립니다. 
그러자 천개의 날개가
급히 날아오르는 듯 
그 위에 빛이 나타나더니 
바로 하루가 시작되었지요.

그는 사람들 한가운데에서 
그의 힘센 오른팔의 
떨림을 
보고, 느끼면서 
서 있어요 
그는 이 세상의 끝에 있는 
사람들로부터 멀리 떨어진 
왕의 신전으로 갔지요 
그는 그가 앞으로 알 게 될 
또 그가 들었던 
이야기의 결과를 생각하며 
궁금해하며 기다리고 있어요 
저기저 사람들 한가운데서 
누워 있어요 
"하느님, 나를 도와주소서 !" 
그러나 모든 이들은 
그의 눈에 비치는 빛으로 알 수 있어요 
그 대답은 이미 알려진거지요 
그는 모여있는 사람들과 함께 
등을 돌리고 서있어요 
그의 강한 오른손의 
단 한번의 기회를 
기다리며 느끼고 있어요 
그들은 왕의 신전에 대해서 
알고 있지요..
....

오랫만에 듣는 이 노래가 아침을 차분케 만듭니다.
